The Farmall tractor in this 1939 image enabled J. W. Wiggins to work land SW of the present crossing of LBJ Frwy. over Centerville Rd. The manufacturer had introduced its ‘tricycle’ placement of front wheels in Texas during the ‘20s, improving maneuverability for row crops. But steel-lug rear wheels on Wiggins’ 1932-33 model discouraged operation on pavement.
