The mobile drum concrete mixer evolved from the WWI era, but heavy units such as this one proliferated after WWII. Cooper Concrete Co., founded as a concrete construction company in 1947, began selling ready-mix concrete to other area contractors in 1952. Cooper is now the oldest family-owned ready mix firm in the metroplex.
