Geeps
GP- type general purpose switching engines were nicknamed “Geeps.”  Unlike older, rounded Diesel-electric designs, squared bodies allowed locomotive operators views in all directions without poking their heads out of the cabin.  MKT’s locomotive No. 22, equipped with spark arrestors on the smoke stacks, sports a green and yellow color scheme applied between 1971 and 1988.
