The Parlor Pickers, a Garland “home band,” played bluegrass on a weekly rotation at the Big ‘G’ Jamboree. The downtown event also offered local performers, including LeAnn Rimes, a venue to hone their talent before audiences of up to 800 people. The Big ‘G’ Jamboree was a Garland entertainment mainstay for over 35 years.
