CCC Mesquite

Workers from the Civilian Conservation Corps camp in Mesquite are pictured in 1938 constructing drainage on 94 acres of terraced agricultural land owned by Garland businessman J. Fletcher White. During their six years in the New Deal’s Depression battle, camp workers completed projects on an estimated 40,000 acres in Dallas, Rockwall and Kaufman counties. (2014-02)
