This post card photo of the Garland square was apparently snapped looking NW from the city’s new water tower, located behind the Ave. A power plant. Post-marked in 1924, the card was mailed by H. L. Roach to his mother, Mrs. W. H. Roach, who was vacationing in Arkansas to escape the Garland’s summer heat. “Temp. here” he reported, “is 102.”
