Homes

The T.C. Brown house, completed in 1900, faced east onto 9th St. between present Main St. and Avenue A. Graciously sized to accommodate reunions with the Brown's seven children and their families, the house was demolished ca. 1950 to make room for a Safeway grocery store. Mr. Brown was a Garland farmer and lumber dealer who served as secretary of the first GISD board of trustees.
