patriotic float

This patriotic float bore employees of Garland’s Kingsley Ranch south on the square's Sixth St. side in a parade likely inspired by organization in 1917 of a local "Army of Food Producers." At the time, more than 100 local businessmen signed pledges to work personally on harvesting farmers’ crops if the labor force were reduced by the war effort.
